PlexTrac Friends Friday: On the Scene at Hacker Summer Camp

During Black Hat 2024 in Las Vegas, I joined Dan DeCloss, founder and CTO of PlexTrac, for an episode of PlexTrac Friends Friday, recorded on the scene at Hacker Summer Camp.

Hacker Summer Camp is what the community calls the week every August when Black Hat, DEF CON and BSides Las Vegas take over the city. It is the busiest week of the year for our industry, and a good backdrop for this chat.

We talked about Adversary Village, what it is, why I started it and what it has grown into; what makes DEF CON different from every other conference; how I first got into hacker culture; and why so much of what makes these events work comes from volunteers. Giving back to the community matters to me as much as the offensive work itself.
